hitch your wagon

I want this dream because...

Because I want to live this dream.

because.

I want my parents' sacrifices for my life be worth it.
I want them to have something to tell their friends, at least it wouldn't be the sad tale of "She's a part time teacher".
I want all that they have given for me to mean something to them. To let them feel that it was all worth it.

because.

I want all the stupid choices I have made in my life to be proven to be the right ones.
I want all the wrong choices that I have made regarding my career to be worth the mistakes.

because.
I want to be able to lift my head and not doubt in my belief in life.

that life is infinite. that life is beautiful. that you can make your life into anything you want it to.

I want to be proven right.

To be proven that there IS power in dreams, in believing, in learning to dream and to want more in this life.

That's what I want to be, you know, to let my friends know, that..

that those stupid songs we used to listen to as kids, those songs we heard and were inspired by in life... that they are real.

life can change and you're not stuck in vain
the impossible is possible tonight

It's funny how your dreams
Change as you're growing old
You don't wanna be no spaceman
You just want the gold
All the dream stealers
Are lying in wait
But if you wanna be a spaceman
It's still not too late

Well it's alright
And It's alright
Who are you and me to say
What's wrong and what's right
Do you still feel like me
We sit down here
And we shall see
We can talk
About common ground
And we can just forget
About feeling down
We can just forget
About life in this town.

I want to believe in all that. And I want others to believe in all that.

To believe in the power of their dreams.

And not to surrender them in growing up.

I want, Lord, I wish for my dream to come true for all these selfish reasons.

Because it's part of who I am.

To give up, to ask me to give up on this, is to ask me to give up all that I've ever believed in life, about life...

and I can't do that.

And I want so much for this dream to happen,

because, I need to know that my belief is right.

That this world, this life, can be just so much more...

and I'm not just a daydream believer fool.

I'm not saying right is wrong
It's up to us to make
The best of all things that come our way
And all the things that came have past
The answer's in the looking glass
There's four and twenty million doors
Down life's endless corridor
Say it loud and sing it proud
And they...

Will dance if they want to dance
Please brother take a chance
You know they're gonna go
Which way they wanna go
All we know is that we don't know
What is gonna be
Please brother let it be
Life on the other hand won't let you understand
Why we're all part of the masterplan

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I want to be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever
We're gonna live forever

Feb Week 2

Really happy with the amount of bands and music I checked out this week.

Had been an INCREDIBLY international week! Well... international coz there were Korean bands, Russian bands (DAMN GREAT), Chinese bands (whereby ROCK MUSIC doesn't exist in this language), British bands, American bands and of course, Japanese bands =)

Will be sending in the ones I liked.

=)

That said though, looking for music is an incredibly daunting task because it's just a neverending gargantuan endeavor looking for more and more and more bands because one band will lead you to 10 other and the 10 others will lead you to another 10 others each. And then you realize "oh wow, there's a whole other country's indie rock bands I could check out" and then you suddenly realize, oh damn! there is just an infinite number of bands out there! Japanese, English, Korean, German, Russian, Swedish, French, EVERYTHING... It's just IMPOSSIBLE to check them all out!!

But I want to at least try the best I can to check out as many as I can.

I probably have 10 tabs opened to 10 different websites with listings and links to hundreds of bands... AND ACTUALLY though, most of the time 9 times out of 10, the bands actually SUCK.... BUTTTTT BUTTTT... just for that one tiny little chance, you just won't know, there's just this one INCREDIBLY amazing band out there or just one INCREDIBLY amazing song out there that would just blow your mind and take your breath away, you just NEVER KNOW.

And for that ONE band, that ONE song, I continue to search in HOPES and ANTICIPATION that I will be lucky enough to score a chance of finding a band or a song like that!

"but eventually, they must push forward because so much awaits them."

Love is just an abstract concept. It can't knock down stuff.

English - http://goodbyetracy.blogspot.com

Japanese! - http://goodbyetracy.jugem.jp/

androp./People in the Box.

Well, today, my last.fm neighbors had 1 band in common androp. So decided to check them out. Nothing available online except myspace music and someone did some tracks on mp3tube.

Anyway, quite good but I thought they sounded TOOOOOO much like People in the Box though, who, by the way, it seems, just released a new EP today, Sky Mouth. Have got the album will check it out soon.

art-school

Pure Love.

My top top top Art-School songs:
君はいま光の中に
水の中のナイフ
僕が君だったら
rasberry (This is not an art-school song, it was on Riki Kinoshita's very first solo demo album before art-school)

Forever love, any time, any day, any mood, any feelings... These tracks are almost unskippable. PURE LOVE!

OTHER AWESOMELY LOVED TRACKS!
Love Letter Box
Missing
Hikari to Karada
Lovers Lover
Flower
Close Your Eyes
Ghost of a Beautiful View
Scarlet
14Souls
Roller Coaster

I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY love Mizu no Naka no Knife... I think it's like the most kick ass song ever!!! REALLYI It's like a..... ride, you know? listening to that song! Seriously! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!

But I think the Art-School song I love the most is Kimi wa Ima Hikari no Naka ni... I feel it is a song that is very very very different from art-school's usual music repertoire. Simple amazing amazing amazing amazingly beautiful and perfectly made.

That said, it's weird but Riki Kinoshita's raspberry is also one of my overall favourite tracks. It's very rare I'd skip this track, not just coz it's art-school or whatever but like in overall general sense of all the songs I have... I just has a really really catchy and rocking out tune to it, you know!!

YEAP!

no music, only manga.

Sorry, no new bands checked out last week.... Was checking out manga instead.... ahahhahaha...

YEAP!

So I was TRYING to get a hold of English Blade of the Immortal beyond Volume 22... it was IMPOSSIBLE.

Then i ended up reading Samurai Deeper Kyo... It's quite cool but it's like so mysterious and stuff and the story progresses a little too slow.. So I just stopped halfway... I mean, it's good but not compelling... I couldn't stop reading till volume 14, of course but... the fact is that... I DID stop. Which, if it was an EXCELLENT A++ manga, I wouldn't have stopped, right???

Like i ESPECIALLY remember reading Rurouni Kenshin... DUDE, I practically sat a 48 hour session finished the entire series. I STILLLLL remember, I was reading over the weekend and came monday, I was at like volume 24, and I really didn't want to stop but I had my California Politics class!! SOOOOOO I HAD TO STOP and dragged myself to campus for that 50 minute 10am class... After which I rushed back home to continue the story to the end before my next class in the afternoon!!!

THAT is addictive! And an EXCELLENT A++ series!

Black Cat too was read in one whole session.

ANOTHER Excellent A++ series.

Perfect Albums

There are some albums where we like say 4 of the 10 tracks.. And then there are some albums where it's just PERFECT all the way. I think in my life there's been some albums that are like that, where every track is a favorite track! By no means they're like my favourite album of all time, but these are the albums that I can listen from track 1 to 12 and NOT SKIP a single track. Where every song is awesome, and at the end of the 12th track it makes me go "Damn, that was a great album! In its entirety!"

Wholesome albums.

I'll try to list some =)

Nirvana - Nevermind

Photobucket

No arguments here ;) I think this is the album that changed my life. From girl to GRUNGE/ALTERNATIVE ROCK GIRL. lols... FOREVER!

lols.

I think this was truly the first band, album, music I had ever ever LISTENED TO. you know what I mean?!

On the other notes, my second top fav Nirvana album would be In Utero, folllowed by Incesticide.

Photobucket

Green Day - Dookie

Photobucket

Yeap.. I think this is the second album I listened to in my whole life... Lols. PERFECT album dude, EVERY DAMN SONG IS GOOD!

Hole - Celebrity Skin

Photobucket

Ok while I think Live Through This definitely shaped me wayyyyyy more than this album did. In fact, this album was just an album. But of the Hole/Courtney Love album, this was the best one because it was a really, really good rock album. From the first song to the last song, each song was great. And this IS one of those albums that I do like each and every song, from first to last.

Seriously.

Photobucket

Smashing Pumpkins - Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

Photobucket

Ok, this is a 2 CD album ok... Like the first of its kind wayyyyyyy back then when 2 CD albums are unheard of... So there are one or two tracks that I skip lolsss...

But this was my first forage into.. music with thought. lols.

Great album, I don't think I can listen to this album without feeling 16 again.

Had my share of my bouts of depression with this one lols.

Oasis - (What's The Story) Morning Glory?

Photobucket

I think I have three copies of this album. Gosh... LOVED LOVED LOVED Oasis... Changed me from grunge girl to rock girl... lols.

But as equally awesome an album is Definitely Maybe... It's just that, I think Morning Glory is just more... radio friendly and more "progressed" in its sounds than Definitely Maybe.

Photobucket

Ash - 1977

Photobucket

Flawless album. Dude, even the bonus tracks, T. Rex and Everywhere is All Around is KICK ASS!

Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill

Photobucket

Another FLAWLESS amazing album. Damn. One album wonder, though!

Blink-182 - Enema of the State

Photobucket

Sooooo this album changed me from a rock girl to a punk girl! lols...

I can't decide tho which album I like better... Enema or Dude Ranch coz I think Dude Ranch is also awesome, but I think the album that I will go back to it at anytime and still love the songs, it'd be Enema.

Photobucket

Finch - What It Is To Burn

Photobucket

I mean it, track 1 to 12. NO SKIPS. ALL LOVE. T O T A L L Y.

So this album changed me from punk girl to emo girl! lols~

Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends

Photobucket

What can I say about this album? TIMELESS. Stayed with me before leaving for the States, while I was in the States and even now, when I have left the States.

Their first and their best.

Something Corporate - Leaving Through The Window

Photobucket

yeah I know, weird pick, but I really loved this album and I thought it was a solid album. Every track is great. Well written, well arranged, well made.

Asian Kung-Fu Generation - Sol-fa

Photobucket

OK, I chose Sol-fa not only coz yes, IT IS AN AMAZINGLY AWESOME ALBUM from first to last! But also, I guess, it represents the epoch of Ajikan's "rock" brilliance.

I love the previous two albums too, Kimi Tsunagi Five M and Houkai Amplifier... SOLID albums too! LOVE LOVE LOVE every single one of the songs on those 3 albums! Incredible..

And yes, it was these albums that changed me from an emo/scene girl to a Japanese rock girl... LOLS!

Photobucket Photobucket

Tsubaki - Portrait+

Photobucket

Yes, this is an absolutely amazing album and yes, while the other Tsubaki albums are also wonderful and I really love them too, in my opinion, this is their finest work yet.

This album like those other perfect album, I feel, is the pinnacle of their brilliance, an album where solid rock sound is constructed perfectly with studio work. Flawless marriage of the both that resulted in an album that is both rocking, yet incredibly well crafted.

I constantly look for albums like those. Sometimes a band can not progress beyond the edgy raw rock sounds and sometimes bands can go from really good but raw rock songs only to release an overly sound engineered/enhanced album the next that totally takes the edge off their songs.

Portrait+ is neither. A perfect Tsubaki balance. IMHO.

My SECOND FAVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV Tsubaki album! ALSO INCREDIBLE, every song is KICK ASS from first to last, IMHO.

Photobucket

Radwimps - Radwimps 3

Photobucket

YEAP. I LOVE THIS RADWIMPS ALBUM BEST. When I first checked out Radwimps, this was actually the first album I got and it was perfect. Every song in it was great! Thus, from that first perception, this is a perfect album from first to last.

Lunkhead - Tsuki to Tenohira

Photobucket

Hahaha... ok, ok, ok... I chose this album because the PERFECTEST song is on this album ;)

Guess which track =P

My other Lunkhead Favs... Albums where every song is a good song and every other song is a GREAT song!

Photobucket Photobucket

Other really coooooool perfect albums?

Third Eye Blind - Third Eye Blind

Photobucket

Oh c'mon... if you were a teenager in the 90s, I bet this album's on your list!

Gin Blossoms - Congratulations I'm Sorry

Photobucket

YEAP!! I LOVE THIS ALBUM! I think it's brilliant! Almost every song is absolutely amazing!

The Stone Roses - The Complete Stone Roses

Photobucket

HELL YEAH! Dude, if there was ever the BEST BEST OF album, this is it. lols.

Days Away - The Feel Of It

Photobucket

I really heart his band :)

New Found Glory - New Found Glory

Photobucket

One of those perfect melodic punk albums that's a great listen from first to last.

A New Found Glory - Nothing Gold Can Stay

Photobucket

This is a VERY VERY raw albums, thus, not for everyone but I really really love every track on this album!

Plastic Tree - Chandelier

Photobucket

Yes, TOTALLY. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE, BRILLIANT ALBUM. Totally love this band, dude.. Yeah.. STILL :D lols.

Ok I think I better stop here coz I'm beginning to list!!!!! There's just soooooooo many incredible albums out there!!!

Goshh... ima just stick the album covers here lols.

Inuyasha - The Final Act - Episode 9 - "Sesshomaru in the Underworld"

HOLYCOW! Can you believe it?! I watched Inuyasha again!! After how many years?! Man... And there's no difference! I mean in like the background music and all that. TOTAL NOSTALGIA!

Anyway, I decided to check out this episode of the new Inuyasha episodes. They started the anime again to pick up the last arc to the end of the manga... I guess that's a good thing huh? After all, it was a very, very popular series. (Killed by lengthy repeats and wth-die-naraku-NOW)

Anyway, I bothered to follow the manga (back then) only because I wanted to read about Sesshoumaru and Rin... My favorite storyline in the whole series.. And this part of the series was the MOST MOST MOST MOST MOST MOST touching and wonderful part of the entire series (lols)!

So, it was nice they animated it!

But... It was kinda dissapointment actually... I didn't think it was as powerful being adapted into the anime...

I really like this part of the series because, I felt, it signified the progress and process of Sesshoumaru's character... I mean, he had always been a hard-ass, but you always felt there was more it him than that... in that he actually did care for Rin, a very uncharacteristic thing for him to do.

And I felt that these chapters (4 chapters in total in the manga), really showed how much he has changed and show his "true heart" that being with Rin has made him become....

I always loved that part where he catches Rin and Kohaku as they fall and then he says to Kohaku, "Don't make me have to look after you. This hand can only wield a sword"... And he said it with such sadness, I feel, inside, he desires to be compassionate but he knows his fate has been assigned that he can only use a sword to kill..

And I think the part that signifies his change the most was the part where he realized that Rin is dead and he can't save her and he actually DISCARDS the Tenseiga (Sesshoumaru throwing away his sword to carry Rin), and says that it is not worth it, to exchange Rin's life for mastering the sword or anything... I thought that was absolutely absolutely touching... MORE THAN INUYASHA CAN EVER BE WITH KAGOME!! wth!

MEANT ONLY TO WIELD A SWORD.

MISSING IN THE ANIME WHAT THE HELL!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

RIN DIES.

It totally wasn't emotional in the Anime at all!! It the WEIGH and SIGNIFICANCE of Sesshomaru's feelings and words were just LOST in the anime!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

RIN REVIVED.

This part was quite faithful... But... Still, I feel Sesshoumaru wasn't as...... touched and caring here in the anime as he was in the manga!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
I didn't quite like the way Sesshomaru said "mou daijoubu da" to Rin!! Wasn't soft and caring as I think it should have been!!! lols

Photobucket

Anyway, it's kinda like "wth" watching Inuyasha again huh? But anyway, I can't deny Inuyasha... Because it was because of Inuyasha back in 2003 that I got to know and became interested in Japan, so... I won't deny my Inuyasha FAN-NESS! lols
