Haih.... But alas..... Don't think I have the money I need to buy all of them..... I'm waiting for a good Art-School auction so i can just buy all the CDs all at once... But it doesn't seem to be happening... I WILLLLLLLLLL get the Lunkhead and Tsubaki items, OF COURSE..... And I think I'll get Illmatic Baby, Bump and maybe the Sleep Flowers DVD.... I really really really really like Setsuna Blue Star too, but, that's two more albums I'd have to buy!!!

Sigh... wish i was in Japan, so much easier and CHEAPER to buy them all.......................

I got the new Ipod Touch today!!!!


Dragon bought it for me as a Christmas present!!! I did have to pay around USD150, though, and I had some problems with Customs too...

BUTTT!!!!!!! NEVERTHELESS!!!!!!!!

GOD IS GREAT!!!!!!

Lately, I had really really really wanted a new ipod because the nano was running out of space... And you know, I don't buy alot of things, usually (except books and stationaries)... But, for once, I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY wished for an iPod..... But of course, I knew I didn't have the money to buy it, nor would I actually spend Rm1600 on an iPod. I wanted to ask my parents, but that was asking for too much, since they're already quite mad at my brother and I for being useless bums...

Anyway, I remember like during the MYF Christmas party, for the ice breakers, Sook Jing had asked us to write "what does Christmas mean to you?" Which I answered "a time of remembrance".... Then the second question was "List two things you want for Christmas"

My answer was:
1) Ipod!!!!! (I really DID want one okay!!!)
2) To see Lunkhead and Tsubaki live in Japan!!!!!!!!

hahahahahhahahahaha~~

Anyway..... After that, I was chatting with Dragon online, and after he signed me on to work for them part time online, he asked me what I wanted... And I jokingly answered "Ipod!!!".... I really wanted one!!! And guess what? He actually said "Okay, I'll get you an ipod for Christmas"

Seriously, besides always wanting to go to Japan, I really don't usually want anything else.... But this time I really really wanted an iPod and God is soooooooo awesome, when it really seemed IMPOSSIBLE for an ipod to drop on my lap... It DID!!!!

I'm really in awe!!!!!! Seriously, because it could NOT have been a coincident! And such a great providence wouldn't have just happened!!! Seriously!!! God is great!! And God is really wonderful indeed!! Thank You GOD!!!!!!! and thanks Dragon, for the gift!!!! ^____^


Woaaaah... shud have asked to go to Japan to see Lunkhead and Tsubaki instead??? hehehe....


Anyway!!! So I got the new iTouch today and it's great!!! THE APPLICATIONS ARE AWESOME!!!! Actually, I was playing around with the applications wayyyyyyyy more than I was actually doing anything with the songs hahahahaha!!!!

It's abit of a pain to have to reload the songs into the ipod again though. Coz I have songs scattered from everywhere, and the itunes library on my computer is very incomplete and very messy... So I'm not too happy with that.... Actually, not too happy with the selection of songs on the Itouch.... But I don't know, I hope i can find a way to put what I want inside... Coz right now, I don't think I would shuffle this mix... It's mostly all Lunkhead, つばき, Art-School, Base Ball Bear, Syrup16g, Asian Kung-Fu Generation.... and a couple of songs from some random others..... And yes, I think there's less than a dozen English songs in it..... Terrible....

Anyway! Will definitely talk more on the ipod later!!!

TODAY!!! I listened to TsunTsunTsubaki Volume30~ ([つんつんつばき]vol.30)!!!!! They had the "nandemo top 3" (anything top 3) countdown as usual and Isshiki-san chose "suki na doubutsu top 3" (top 3 favourite animals).... He always likes animals!! I think he's an animal lover hahahhaha!! Anddddd... He's always taking picture of cats!!!!! And, he says on the blog that he wants to own a cat, and he wants to own a dog.......!

Anyway..... Isshiki-san's countdown!

Hehehe... they were all saying dogs are cute and all... So I guess that's why he likes dogs... HELL YEAH! They're damn cute... He should meet my Sugar doggie... she's da best! muahahahahah...

wth????? where the heck did horse come from? I was wondering like what?? HORSE? he likes horses better than dogs??? But anyway, horses are cool, so it's understandable... he's a horse lover hehehehehehe~~ wow... if it's ABOVE dogs he must REALLY like horses!

Anyway............ Then, I thought, surely number 1 was gonna be NEKO (CAT!).... Since he DOES ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take pictures of cats, wanna have a cat, anddddddd Tsubaki even has a song named NEKO......... SO, surely number 1 goes to Neko.......

NUMBER 1........................................... ORANG UTAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTH??!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? ORANG UTAN???????????? where the hell did THAT come from?!?!?!?!?!? SERIOUSLY!!! WHY THE HECK ORANG UTAN MAN?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! NOT EVEN CAT!! it was ORANG UTAN!! That means............ AS MUCH AS HE LOVES CATS AND DOGS AND HORSE, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? He ACTUALLY likes ORANG UTAN better!! And DUDE! This guy REALLY likes cats, you know?! kinda happy though! He likes dogs better than cats then!! Albeit he takes WAYYYYYYYYY more pictures of cats than dogs! hehehehe....... He blogged before that he used to have a dog back home when he was younger...... Hmmm.... Thus, he's a dog person??

Today was Mikan Matsuri Day 4.... TSUBAKI and LUNKHEAD!

Blood hell........ how depressing we're all missing it!

「またライブで会おう。」.... yeah.... Isshiki-san.... I really wish this was possible ='(.... it's really not as simple as such words when one lives 6000 miles way from that "ライブ"...... Oh well.... 「一色さん、いつかまたライブであいましょう。。。。。」

WOAH! I just had to say this!!! Listening to Tsubaki's new single now.... and I just had to say this.... Isshiki-san's singing has improved incredibly!!!! His voice and singing is AMAZING on the Akeboshi Mix!!!!! (or are they all the same but dude, it's GREAT AMAZING SINGING!!) He could hit such notes and his voice is soooooooooo much stronger now on high notes especially!!! And his voice has become stronger too!!!

Great work, Isshiki-san!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope they will launch a new site soon...... even if they do, let's hope with my hopeless knowledge of Japanese, I'd be able to find that page =(

Kinda disappointed.

So, I thought I MUST vary the music I listen to and not only check out Japanese bands. Which I did, so I've been trying to check out some English music the past two days and also some local bands... I managed to get a hold of that very much talked about local indie compilation album, Support our Local Bands compilation and also a few albums of a few local bands.

And all I can say is that.... Unfortunately, our local scene is still quite disappointing. I know I've not checked out like alot, alot of bands yet, but still.... in the handful I have are all metal wannabes, grunge ripoffs and what have you not. Those in the rock category stands there with their wobbly riffs and tunes that you can really hardly call it "rock".

C'mon people, where is the umph? There's no energy or even drive at all, in ANY of the music I've heard so far. I mean, dude, are they even taking this seriously? I mean, I read our Malaysian local indie scene cannot survive by being in a band alone, so many of them have real jobs and only do this part time. Thus albums are released few and far between. Yet, that said, if the albums are released few and far between, should what be produced be something that kick ass?

Sometimes one wonders if it's really that one major ingredient that's lacking in our local bands, that is, TALENT.

Listening to the bands, you know, actually, seriously, it seemed like the band Dizzy, Jeremy, Jeff, Kok Wah and I put put those years ago really actually had wayyyyyyyyyyy better songs than 3/4 of all the songs I checked out yesterday! I'm serious!

I mean, I don't want to be such a harsh critic, but really... The downloads so far seems like half-hearted, slip-shot work of patched up C,G,Am chords that our local bands try to pass off as "rock tunes" or "indie tunes". The local indie scene, which I had much hopes and expectations for, is turning out to be a bunch of questionable bands producing a bunch of passé and blasé tunes. No wonder our indie is still indie. Because the songs seem to be songs that were written in 5 minutes and jammed out together, recorded and put out as an album. There needs to be thought, heart, and hell, it won't hurt to sprinkle some talent even, on the tunes you make.


Our entire indie scene can be said like this: ONE acoustic omake (side freebie, not even B-sides but like side free song) song by Tsubaki, like that good morning tune, beats EVERY song I checked out last night, hands down.

I'm not biased towards Tsubaki, it's actually TRUE. Because that ONE tune by Tsubaki actually shows more talent than our entire industry. I am dead serious.

That's just depressing.


It's not that I don't want to support our local bands, but really, they really should put more thought and talent into what they make and not be a band for the sake of being in the band. You owe the people who listen to your music more than that.


That said, it's not just the local bands that were disappointing, but I've also tried to check out some new English bands and songs--- and all I can say is that America alternative/indie/rock bands better start making songs that are ORIGINAL. Stop those generic studio crap and actually come up with a good, thoughtful, and CREATIVE album, just for once, for goodness sake. It really wouldn't kill them.

It's so hard to find good rock tunes anymore because they're all frigging carbon copies of generic studio crap. I am serious! Even like an unknown band (with a 24,000 playcount on last.fm), sounds like a carbon copy studio manufactured crap. I'm totally serious.

And then, the hopes of the industry, which are those indie bands who at least, TRY to make tunes with thought and experimentation. But even they are all still hook on those Wilco folk rock crap... Oh c'mon! when are we gonna cut the folk shit away and start making good rock tunes for a change????

Ahhhh, well yeah, you can call me bitchy today.


(ah, i have no comment of Japanese music right now... Not to say they're great all the time, they do have some hit and miss and WTFs?... But still, even when I can't understand 90% of the songs, there are songs that are solid enough musically, to carry you interest, and even move your heart)

(oh and shit, by the way... the ONLY song by a local Malaysia artist that I like was actually a JAPANESE song by the band John's Mistress. It's called Kimi. THAT song, had a TUNE! haha)
